Trick-or-Treat Link Party

I have had some great projects linking up to my link parties lately and many of them have been Halloween related. Then I thought, wouldn't it be great to have a link party just for Halloween?

Here are the rules:

  1. There is no limit to how many posts you can link up. Please link up any and ALL of your amazing Halloween crafts, recipes, handmade costumes and decor.
  2. Past projects are also welcome. If you posted a Halloween project last year but would like to share it again this year. Feel free to do so.
  3. Link directly to your post and NOT just to your blog.
  4. PLEASE LINK BACK TO DIY HOME SWEET HOME OR GRAB THE MORE THE MERRIER BADGE.

What's The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread?

Chalkboard Paint!!
A few years ago, if someone was talking about a chalkboard they usually meant the giant board that sat on the wall in the front of the classroom. These board were usually boring black or a very unattractive green. In today's world, chalkboards are being used outside the classroom in many ways.

I would like to start off this week by saying thank you all so much for being patient with my lack of posting lately. This year has been such a mess. Moving several times, staying with relatives, job changes. It seems like every time I start getting back into the groove of posting regularly. Something else pops up.
Well hopefully that will all come to an end soon because we finally closed on our very first home!!!! We won't be moving in for a couple more weeks, but I can't wait to show you guys around.
But now lets get onto the party.

Feature Friday - Ash Tree Meadow

Ok, first of all I would like to start with an apology. I started feature Friday a few weeks ago but since there didn't seem to be much interest it, it only lasted a couple weeks.
Recently I decided to clean out my junk box on my e-mail account. As soon as I hit the delete button I realized there were some e-mails from a few blog readers with "feature" in the subject. Of course the screen changed and they were gone before I could save them. So if you sent me an e-mail asking to be featured please, please, please accept my apologies and resend your e-mail. I promise to start looking over my junk mail before deleting it all.

And now I would like to introduce you to Ashley from Ash Tree Meadow.
Using 20 t-shirts that were in her "to be ragged" pile, Ashley made this fabulous Rag Rug.

She even includes a step-by-step tutorial so you can make your very own rag rug.

But don't stop there. Be sure to check out some of Ashley's other amazing projects.

And her pack-n-play storage made from a pillow case

Ash Tree Meadow may be a fairly small blog at the moment as it is just starting out but Ashley has some great ideas and I predict some AMAZING projects in the future. So head on over and take a peek.

I love you, you love me, we're a happy family.

When Hubby and I were house hunting Princess came up with the great idea that we NEEDED to buy a purple house with a purple toilet and a purple bedroom.

PURPLE? REALLY?

I absolutly HATE purple!
Every time I see the color purple all I can think about is Barney (you know who I'm talking about, that big purple dinosaur)

After much negotiation we settled on a purple bedroom.
Now I'm just trying to find some inspiration that's not to Barney-ish

Here is what I found so far.
Even though I think this purple is a little dark, it looks absolutely amazing paired with those bright white beds. (hmmm...wonder how long they would stay white in Princesses room.)

Love the bright colors in this room. Would have never thought of painting the ceiling purple

I really like the leaves and butterflies in this room but still a little too much purple for my taste.

I love the blocks of color in this photo

Maybe I should just skip the purple paint and try some purple decor.

Like these pillows.

 Or a chandelier.

 Or these beautiful chairs.

After seeing some of these photos I think I may be able to handle the purple. What do you think?
