Note: This giveaway is now closed.
Winner will be announced Friday Feb. 10, 2012.A few days ago I was contacted by Simply Spray Fabric Paints to do a product review.
I was so excited!! I've talked about painting upholstery on this blog before but I had yet to try it myself. Simply Spray Upholstery Fabric Paint has been featured on the Today Show and is the ONLY non-toxic aerosol paint for upholstery.
The victim...
This poor guy has been sitting in the garage for a while now waiting for an opportunity to shine!
I gave the fabric a good scrubbing with some soapy water,
and cut off a few odd strings on the back rest. I set it outside in the sun for a couple days to make sure it was good and dry.
Since it is going to be in Jocelyn's room and she loves purple I decided to go with the plum.
It only took a couple coats of paint before I got the perfect shade of purple.
{*Tip - I used straight pints to pin the piping back so that I could spray in the creases.}
I then painted the wood a bright white.
And the results...
Jocelyn LOVES it!!!
And so do I.
The paint did not stiffen the fabric at all!!! This was so much easier than re-upholstering the chair and it is the perfect addition to Jocelyn's room. I've got a few more can's of paint and a few more projects on the way that I can't wait to share with you. This stuff seriously is amazing!!
Upholstery paint is the perfect option for transforming sofas, chairs, curtains, carpets, lampshades, and even place mats.
You can find Simply Spray Fabric Paints on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

I would love to use the upholstery paint for my dining room chairs.
ReplyDeleteI have an older upholstered rocker chair which has faded over the years from a dark burgandy to a blah rust color. I would love to use the upholstery paint to freshen it up with the dark brown color, perhaps maybe even the plum for a bright pop!

I have a glider rocker that is 17 yrs old (bought when i was pregnant) and in need of a makerover. My son wants it when he moves out but since he is joining the military right out of school it will be a while so he wants me to "update" it to match his room but upholstering a chair is expensive..

I ADORED the journal on their site. I would probably start off with some T shirt redos, then a journal, then redo a scooby doo computer chair. So many possibilities. How many cans do you think it would take to redo a love seat? :)
ReplyDeleteDon't have Twitter but would follow if I did. Does this count as an entry? :)
ReplyDeleteI actually don't have anything in particular that I would use this on,but I love picking things up at garage sales and thrift stores, and I'm sure I'd find something awesome to fix up!

ReplyDeleteI bought this vintage living room set for my first home. If I win I would love to work some magic on these pretties.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the upholstery paint for my office chair... I've been thinking of re-upholstering it... but this would be so much easier. I might like to try the burnt orange.

ReplyDeleteI have an old upholstered chair that's a fairly "clash-y" shade of green at the moment. I would use the plum so it matched the rest of our living room!

ReplyDeleteI love my couch and recliner in my living room, but it has faded due to sun shining in. The fabric is still good, just faded. This sounds like an excellent way to perk it back up to its original appearance.
ReplyDeleteI have an upholstered bench that could use an update!

ReplyDeleteVisited the site... How cool is this stuff? So stoked to know about it. I think the tye dye effect stuff will be fun for my teenage cousin to do with us. But as for this give away... My dad got some super rad chairs from the TAJ MAHAL when they were remodeling ( he's a carpenter ) and they are really cool but the color is this faded mute pink that is so wrong for how cool the frame of the chair is... It needs a nice bold pop of colour. Thats what i'd do if I won.
ReplyDeleteSimply Spray has been FB "liked" and I mentioned that I found their product through your site. ( which is pretty awesome! Where have you been all my life? )
ReplyDeleteI also left a message on the FB post on your page.
